Our focus is finding automation solutions

We specialize in helping small businesses modernize their current data processes.

Our Conversion – Automation – Transformation (CAT) method helps turn your ideas, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Access databases and manual processes into modern, automated systems.

We use AI tools where they make the work faster, and a person reviews the work before it reaches you.

You have

  • Excel
  • MS Access
  • Ideas
  • Manual processes

Conversion

You get

  • Database
  • Business apps
  • Automated processes
  • Reports & metrics

What We Do

Most small businesses run on tools that grew one step at a time: a spreadsheet here, a Microsoft Access database there, a report someone rebuilds by hand every month. We keep up with new technology so you don't have to, and we bring those pieces together with one method: Convert, Automate, Transform.

  1. Convert

Move your data out of spreadsheets, Microsoft Access and older systems into a proper database, and check it against the original.

  2. Automate

Replace copy-and-paste with scheduled pipelines that collect, clean and load your data on their own.

  3. Transform

Turn that data into dashboards, reports and applications your team uses to make decisions. Clean, well-organized data is also what makes AI tools useful when you're ready for them.

Our Services

Four services that work on their own or together.

Databases

Database design, tuning and access control, on your own servers or in Azure.

Tools:

  • SQL Server 2012–2022
  • Azure SQL Database
  • PostgreSQL
  • DBeaver

From our founder's experience:

  • Built SQL Server and Azure SQL databases, writing T-SQL stored procedures and views.
  • Improved database performance through indexing and query tuning.
  • Led the full disaster recovery rebuild of a business intelligence database server after a company-wide ransomware attack, restoring operations and data availability.

Data pipelines (ETL)

ETL means extract, transform, load. We collect data from your databases, files and online services through their APIs, clean and check it, and load it where you need it, on a schedule.

Tools:

  • SSIS
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Azure Logic Apps
  • REST APIs

From our founder's experience:

  • Built and maintained Azure Data Factory pipelines that bring in data through REST APIs from SurveyMonkey, KnowBe4 and ServiceDesk Plus, with parameters, triggers and monitoring.
  • Used ChatGPT as a working assistant while building an Azure Data Factory pipeline that calls an API.
  • Designed and developed SSIS packages for daily ETL processes across multiple client systems.
  • Created ETL workflows that bring together data from Excel, CSV, Oracle and flat files.

Web and business applications

Custom web and desktop applications built around your data, plus support and maintenance for the ones you already have.

Tools:

  • C#
  • VB.NET
  • JavaScript
  • .NET Web API

From our founder's experience:

  • Developed .NET C# Web API integrations with Constant Contact.
  • Built web-based tools with controlled access for internal teams.
  • Maintained and supported business applications for multiple departments, resolving issues and improving usability.
  • Directs a multi-agent Claude AI setup that plans, designs, builds and tests websites, including this one.

Reporting

Dashboards and paginated reports that show how your business is doing, built on a clear data model and refreshed on a schedule.

Tools:

  • Power BI
  • DAX
  • Report Builder
  • SSRS
  • Crystal Reports

From our founder's experience:

  • Migrated a company's reporting system from an external vendor to an in-house Power BI solution, which helped reduce reporting costs.
  • Built Power BI dashboards, paginated reports and data models using DAX, Power Query and Report Builder.
  • Administered the Power BI Service and gateways: user access, data connections, refresh schedules and subscriptions.
  • Trained teams on DAX, data modeling, Power BI and Report Builder.

Who We Are

S2MB Data Management is a small company that builds web and desktop applications, databases and reports, sized for smaller businesses.

Our Goal

Less manual work. We turn the rules you apply by hand into automated steps, and turn your spreadsheets and processes into data you can report on.

Mario Fuller, founder

Mario Fuller is a senior data engineer with 26+ years of experience delivering data solutions in the healthcare and enterprise sectors. He has worked as a Senior Data Engineer and a Senior Database Developer, building Azure Data Factory pipelines, SQL Server and Azure SQL databases, and Power BI reporting.

He earned the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): SQL 2016 Database Development certification in 2019 (view the badge on Credly), and he is an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran. He holds a BAAS in Advanced Technology from the University of North Texas and an A.A.S. in Computer Science from Texas State Technical College.

His work has included modernizing legacy systems, tuning database performance, and building analytics used for operational and financial decisions.

He is adopting AI in his own work: he used ChatGPT while building an Azure Data Factory API pipeline, and he directs a multi-agent Claude setup that plans, designs, builds and tests websites, including this one. AI speeds up the work; Mario, or someone he designates, reviews what it produces.

He has worked in healthcare settings and brings working knowledge of HIPAA, data governance and data security practices. This describes his experience. It is not a certification or a compliance statement for S2MB.

Disclaimer:

The experience described on this page is Mario Fuller's own, gained in roles with previous employers. Those employers are not clients of S2MB.

Our Audience

We work with businesses that are too big for spreadsheets and too small for an in-house data team.

Small and medium businesses

Companies with 2 to 75 employees whose data lives in spreadsheets, Microsoft Access databases or a system nobody wants to touch. We bring it into one place, automate the routine work and give you reports built from one checked source.

Databases and data pipelines

Startups

New companies that want their data set up properly from day one: a sound database, automated feeds from the tools they use, and dashboards that grow with them, ready for AI tools when the time comes.

Reporting and applications

Individual requests

One-off jobs: a report rebuilt, a Microsoft Access database moved, a spreadsheet turned into a simple application. Tell us what you need and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.

Signs we can help

  • Reports are rebuilt by hand every week or month.
  • Two systems hold the same data and never agree.
  • One person is the only one who understands the database.
  • Data is emailed around as spreadsheet attachments.
  • You'd like to try AI tools, but your data isn't organized enough yet.
